Female Founded. UK Made.
Dashel was founded in 2017 by Catherine Bedford, after noticing a gap in the market for safe and stylish cycle helmets that are sustainably made here in the UK. Our mission is to encourage people to incorporate cycling into their daily routines and make more trips by bike. Eschewing the ugly and bulky helmets popularised by sportier cyclists, we’re committed to designing and making helmets that people actually want to wear. Dashel's rounded shape and peak ensures that is the safe choice for urban cycling.
Taking its name from the Cornish word for thistle (a colourful, protective flower), Dashel helmets are manufactured at our partner factories in Redruth and Plymouth. Our manufacturing uses green and renewable energy and recycles its waste. We also offer a recycling program for our helmets. If only all businesses thought as hard about the disposal of their products, as they did about the launch!
