Safety Testing
Both models of Dashel Cycle Helmets have been Certified to EN1078 - The European Standard. The Carbon Fibre version is also certified to the South Korean cycle helmet standard and will be adding certification in other territories in future.
Dashel Cycle Helmets are therefore only intended for use in Europe and any country where EN1078 is the accepted standard. Any use outside these territories will be at your own risk and we disclaim all liability thereto.
EN1078 How have these helmets been tested?
To pass EN1078 cycle helmets are crash tested on anvils that mimic flat surface and kerb impacts. The helmets are tested at the front, back sides and crown. When crashed the helmets must not allow a force of over 250g to reach the head. In layman's terms, g is the amount of gravity the earth exerts on you when you fall. When taken as an average, Dashel helmets' impact results are 155g, so well below the standards set. The helmets are tested at temperatures -20 degrees and at +50 degrees. Therefore they are only proven to provide protection when cycling at temperatures in between this range.
